Do you no longer like some of the photos you’ve posted on Instagram and would like to hide them without permanently deleting them? It’s possible thanks to the Archive option, a function that proves to be very useful for cleaning up your profile! Once archived, posts are available in a dedicated section, which you can quickly find from the main menu.
This section also contains archived stories, which are automatically saved and hidden after 24 hours. This way you can easily find your “Ephemeral stories” and share them again!
How do I archive posts on Instagram?
Open the Instagram app and log in with your credentials if you haven’t already.
Tap the profile icon – or avatar – at the bottom right of the screen to access your profile page.
On your profile page, tap on the photo you want to archive.
At the top right of the photo, tap the three dots to open the options menu.
In the pop-up menu, tap on “Archive”.
Repeat as many times as necessary with all the photos you want to hide from your profile.
How to archive stories on Instagram?
Unlike “classic” publications, there is absolutely no manipulation to archive stories because they are automatically saved after 24 hours. But you can also decide not to keep them by changing the automatic saving option.
To do this, perform the process as it follows:
Press the icon at the bottom right of the interface to access your profile.
Press the three horizontal lines at the top right.
Then tap on “Settings”.
In “Settings”, open the “Privacy” section.
In the “Interactions” section, open the “Story sub-heading”.
In the “Save” section of the “Story Options” screen, uncheck the “Save to Archive” switch to turn it gray.
This will permanently delete your stories after 24 hours.
To restore the automatic archiving of stories, do the same thing and turn the switch back on.
